        The electronic fireplaces we have are manufactured by Vermont Casting.  Vermont Casting is the largest maker of gas fireplaces and they use the same cast iron and other parts for the electronic fireplaces that they use for the gas fire places.  The free standing unit below weighs 240 pounds and is a solid as the original Franklin Stove.

        The best part is that you can have the atmosphere of a fire with, or with out the heat.  This is great in the summer time when you have the air conditioner on.
